Good Character & Citizenship

Good Character & Citizenship
The Boys & Girls Club of Erie County's Good Character & Citizenship programs offer our members opportunities to develop leadership capabilities and make a difference in their community.

Our Philosophy
  • Promotes the development of a positive self-image and strong character
  • Teaches positive and effective strategies for responding to conflict
  • Encourages the development of meaningful relationships with others
  • Empowers youth to support and influence their Club and community
  • Teaches respect for both their own and others’ cultures
Our Good Character & Citizenship Programs
  • Keystone Club & Touch Club: Provides opportunities for young people ages 14 to 18. Youth participate, both in and out of the Club, in community service activities.
  • Passport to Manhood: Targeting Club males, ages 11 to 14, this program teaches and promotes responsibility. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each concentrating on a specific aspect of character and manhood through highly interactive activities.
  • SMART Girls: Encourages healthy attitudes and lifestyles that will enable early adolescent girls to develop their full potential.
